En México, el 50% de egresados de educación superior en el país elige entre ocho carreras que no están relacionadas con ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería y matemáticas (Carreras STEM).
La importancia de que más niños y jóvenes se interesen por alguna de las carreras STEM en México radica en que las empresas enfrenta dificultades para encontrar a las personas con las habilidades que se requieren, la cuales en gran parte están relacionadas con las ciencias, matemáticas e ingenierías.

Es por eso que a Fondo Unido y a 3M les interesa fortalecer esas habilidades en las y los jóvenes del país. Junto con JA México, se logro impartir el programa Ensamblando tu Carrera. Más de 100 participantes aprendieron sobre las carreras STEM, las oportunidades de empleo que tienen estas áreas y también las diferentes opciones de carreras universitarias que se pueden adaptar a su perfil.
Sin el apoyo de los voluntarios de Fondo Unido y 3M este programa no hubiera sido posible.
